Where do I even begin... just STAY AWAY FROM DOTSTER!!
This company is, in a word, amateurish. The current company I work for has a few domains with them and each one I've had to do any maintenance on has had issues. They initially extorted us $100 for each domain that fell into redemption. They charged us $192 more than any other registrar for a .coop renewal for example Gandi.net charges $78). Their support take forever...

I totally agree with other reviewers. Never give them your card, they will continously charge it multiple time for the same thing. I got the same scripted line, we will refund your payments, but when i check, there is NO REFUNDS. Will suspend your entire account if you do not wish to continue paying for your expired domains. ! AVOID AVOID.
My websites and emails (including client websites and emails) have gone down suddenly several times over the years, and there is never any real explanation. It has taken weeks sometimes to get sites back up when they go down. Customer service is a nightmare to deal with - first you have to convince them there's a problem (they don't understand how to check if a website is down), and then you have to convince them that it's not fixed yet. I'd say it's like talking to a wall, but it's not - I wish it was. It's more like talking to an impudent child, who is snarky, talks back and is rude. And I'm not the type to be rude to customer service. I've been there. I let my steam out in reviews like this. I have never felt victimized by a company quite like I have felt victimized by Dotster. Stay far, far, far, far away.

I didn't read the letter which Dotster sent 1. I did not subscribe to Dotsterr newsletter 2. I did not open spam I didn't buy service I don't need service I didn't confirm payment
This is a huge non-respect for the user.
I asked about a personal discount, which compensates me for the costs. For example, I could be given a discount to renew the domain. But nothing was given to me. This is a huge non-respect for the user again.
I have been a customer with Dotster for several years. In the past three months I have created numerous support tickets, hours worth of telephone calls, calls made every day, several times a day, and zero progress, zero information about why I have no service, my websites are not visible and when they are visible, changes/updates made do not appear.
You will never be able to cancel the services!!!!!! You will be charged even after closing the accounts! We closed our accounts January 2013 and we are still being charged for domains we have not used since 2012. Do not give them your credit card info. They owe us over $100 and we have been calling them for 3 plus years. Yes, they charged us in 2013, then 2014, 2015 and even in 2016, even though we called every time the charges appeared on the credit card and reminded them we cancelled those domains. Each time the answer was the same." We will check into it and give you a refund"......By the way, make sure when you call that you get a ticket number (if you do not have a ticket number, that means the person did not even put the request through to the department...) Every time I call customer service, I get a person in a different country, ie Luvinia from Philipines, who could not even put me in touch with a supervisor because there was no supervisor available... so she said....., then Porscha in Asia (just spoke with her today, so we will see) etc....... TERRIBLE company!!!!!! I would stay away!!!!!!!!! We had a .com and a .net domain with them. The issue is still not solved. Porscha promised she submitted it to the department that handles issues like this, but again, we have been told the same thing in the past by Luvinia and other customer service reps.... I had to call the credit card company and ask for a MERCHANT BLOCK on the account so the credit card company will not accept any more charges from them since I don't know what else to do, other than getting a lawyer and sue them.
Dotster used to be a decent registrar, but they've gone downhill in recent years. Their website has bugs in it that make it difficult to use, and their support people have no interest in doing anything more than replying with boilerplate answers, regardless of whether those answers match your problem or not. If they can't handle registering domain names, I certainly wouldn't trust them to host one of my sites,
